Review of 2013

At the beginning of each year, I like to look back at the equipment I was using in the previous year. In 2013, 117 images made if off the corkboard and into the Art folder. Of these, 108 were shot with my Panasonic G3, 7 with my former Sony RX100, and 2 with my new Panasonic GF6. (The GF6 replaced the RX100 late in the year as my social camera.)

The Art folder contains images shot on 53 different days. The best month was May (flowers, beach trip), and the worst were February, August, and September. The count of images by lens was:
  • Panasonic 25mm - 49
  • two versions of Panasonic 14-42mm kit lens - 21
  • Panasonic 14mm - 14
  • Olympus 60mm macro - 13
  • Olympus 45mm - 10
  • Olympus 17mm f/1.8 - 2 (new lens)
  • RX100 zoom - 7
  • adapted Nikon 200mm - 1 (lens now sold)
As always, the number of images shot with zooms bothers me. The primes really do a better job, but the zooms seem to be with me a lot.

Anyway, now it's time to edit the 117 art shots from 2013 into the 25 or so images that will make up the official 2013 Collection. (These are the only prints that will ever be shown to the public.)

The first shots from 2014 are already in the works!
