On a recent warm evening, my wife and I were sitting at a table on the patio of Brixx, our favorite pizza parlor in Greenville. My wife excused herself for a moment, and I took a look around to see what was going on over toward Panera Bread. When I looked to my left, I found this extension cord looking back at me. I introduced myself and took its picture.

Early stage of the USA Cycling Professional Road Race Championship, held in Greenville yesterday. This is the second of three short laps in town before the riders head out for the first of four long laps up and down Paris Mountain.

On the last lap, George Hincapie leads two other riders in the battle for second place. George, who lives in Greenville, took second place two minutes later.

Also on the last lap, Levi Leipheimer grits his teeth as he passes by more than a minute ahead of the second place riders. Levi won by a 1 minute and 11 second margin.
