I do two kinds of value separations. One retains the hues (colors) of the original scene. The other replaces the original hues with hues that may have nothing to do with the scene. The first kind I refer to as "flat color" value separations, because they "flatten" the values of the original hues in each separation zone. (See the "Value Separation" article on the right.) The next several posts will be flat color value separations from last year's art shots.
