In my early photography days, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, my main hero was Edward Weston, who started his career in the pictorialist style but then rejected pictorialism for the clear, sharp-focused style of the members of Group f/64. I, too, adopted the Group f/64 style, and have generally worked that way. Except that lately I seem to be making some pictures that look sort of pictorialist. So now we'll take a short detour into pictorialism, 2017 style, with apologies to Mr. Weston. Lake Conestee Nature Park, Conestee, SC.

I stop by the "heron overlook" at Lake Conestee Nature Park on a regular basis. Earlier this summer, I took the telephoto zoom there looking for bird pictures, when I found a school of fish lurking off the corner the overlook platform. So I took some pictures of them instead. Herewith, a short series of fish pictures. Lake Conestee Nature Park, Conestee, SC
