In my early photography days, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, my main hero was Edward Weston, who started his career in the pictorialist style but then rejected pictorialism for the clear, sharp-focused style of the members of Group f/64. I, too, adopted the Group f/64 style, and have generally worked that way. Except that lately I seem to be making some pictures that look sort of pictorialist.
